Adventures and Mousecapades: A Podcast About Disney
198. Disney Perks Showdown: WDW Magic Golden Tickets
What if you had to choose just two magical Disney perks to have forever? Would you pick unlimited FastPasses, free hotel stays, or perhaps a night in Cinderella Castle Suite every year? This week, we dive into the ultimate Disney fantasy game, debating which combination of magical benefits would create the perfect Disney life.
- Unlimited Fast Passes Forever
- Free Hotel Stays Forever
- $500 Free Merchandise every time you enter the park
- Free Platinum Plus AP forever
- Free Disney Wedding
- Unlimited and Free park food forever
- One night in cinderella castle suite every year forever
- Ability to perform in a parade or show of your choosing whenever you want
- Be a member of Club 33 forever
- Have a professional photographer follow you around for free every time you go in to the park
We carefully examine these ten extraordinary options, weighing practical considerations against once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Does convenience matter more than exclusivity, or does food perks outweigh merchandise allowances? Our insider knowledge—especially about Club 33 membership—reveals how certain choices offer far more value than might be apparent at first glance.
Through thoughtful discussion and playful banter, we'll reach a surprising consensus on their top two picks, revealing much about what we truly value in our Disney experiences, reflecting a perfect balance between luxury access and practical benefits that would transform how we experience the parks forever.
The conversation extends beyond the original game as we propose additional dream perks that would make their Disney fantasy complete. Make sure you're subscribed, because an expanded version of this challenge will ramp up the difficulty level and make this truly difficult.
What would your two picks be? Join the conversation by reaching out on social media @OurMousCapades or emailing podcast@ourmouscapades.com. Your Disney dreams might be different than ours—and we'd love to hear why!

Hello everyone. I'm Alicea.
Nathan:And I'm Nathan.
Alicea:Welcome to this week's episode of Adventures and Mousecapades.
Nathan:This week, Alicea has a game for us to play.
Alicea:I do, I do.
Nathan:All right. So why don't you explain this? Where where did you get the idea? Let's start off with that.
Alicea:Um scrolling through Instagram or Facebook or one of the things. I don't know. Somebody posted a picture. Um, somebody named Olivia Grace posted a picture of Choose Three Walt Disney World Magic Golden Tickets. And I was looking through it. I'm like, okay, this seems fun. Maybe we should uh do this as an episode.
Nathan:All right. Well, we're gonna tweak it a little bit, but let's do this little intro here that uh I wrote up. And by I I mean co-pilot because both of you did. Yeah, it was a collaborative effort. Yes. All right, folks, it's time for the ultimate Disney Dilemma. We have a list of 10 absolutely magical perks. Think fast passes forever, free food, a Cinderella Castle sleepover, and we're each going to pick just two. That's right, only two. Then we'll battle it out to see whose choices reign supreme in the kingdom of dreams. So grab your Mickey ears and get ready to play along. Because this is harder than choosing your favorite park snack.
Alicea:That was Iron Chef Reminiscent.
Nathan:Whose cuisine reigns supreme?
Alicea:Yes.
Nathan:I miss that show.
Alicea:Yeah, that was a that's a
Nathan:especially the OG one from Japan. That was amazing. No shade to Alton Brown, but anyhow.
Alicea:So fast passes, huh? Or Lightning Lane or Genie or whatever it becomes in the future, right?
Nathan:We all know what we're talking about when we say fast passes. We're old school Disney people. We get it.
Alicea:All right. Should I go through the list?
Nathan:Please. What are the 10 things we have to choose from?
Alicea:Ten things to choose from. First off is unlimited fast passes forever. Skip the line, like royalty, forever and always free.
Nathan:All right.
Alicea:Number two, free hotel stays forever. Sleep in Disney Magic without ever touching your wallet. Number three, $500 free merchandise every time you enter the park. Walk in, shop like a boss, repeat. Number four, free platinum plus annual pass forever. Every park, every perk, every day, no strings attached.
Nathan:Nice.
Alicea:Number five, free Disney wedding. Say I do with Cinderella vibes and zero bills.
Nathan:That's big.
Alicea:Number six, unlimited and free park food forever. Mickey pretzels and dole whip on demand for life. Number seven, one night in Cinderella Castle Suite every year forever. Your annual fairy tale sleepover, no fairy godmother required. Number eight, ability to perform in a parade or show of your choosing whenever you want. Become part of the magic. Spotlight is always ready. Number nine, be a member of Club 33 Forever. Exclusive eats, elite vibes, and endless bragging rights. And number 10, have a professional photographer follow you around for free. Every time you go into the park, your Disney day is professionally captured like a celebrity.
Nathan:Wow. Wow.
Alicea:So these are these are these are good.
Nathan:Yeah. Now, the original thing was pick three. I want to change this to pick two because I think it makes it harder.
Alicea:Yeah.
Nathan:Uh that's a that's a heck of a list. All right. Let's start off and and just pick apart some of these. Let's have a little bit of a discussion before we really dive in and pick our final two. So I have a few debate questions to entertain us and get our creative juices and minds flowing a little bit. Would you rather skip every line or sleep in the castle once a year? Is convenience more magical than exclusivity?
Alicea:Yes.
Nathan:Yeah, 100%. The answer to that is yes. Convenience is way more magical than exclusivity.
Alicea:In some things, I guess, yeah.
Nathan:I have no desire to spend a night in Cinderella's castle.
Alicea:No, me either. I mean, is it a bucket list item? Sure.
Nathan:Right.
Alicea:But I don't know that I choose that exclusively for anything.
Nathan:Right. I I agree. I agree with that. Especially because I think they have to have somebody like stay with you, or at least near not with you in the suite, but like they that would be really weird. Um, they have to have somebody stay with slash near you in the castle just to make sure that you don't like go out and wander around the park in the middle of the night. And I think they make you get up and out at like 6 a.m. Yeah. Because they have a whole theme park to go run. So how magical really is that when we start getting uh a little uh into the details?
Alicea:All right. The second question you have here is Is unlimited food more valuable than unlimited merchandise? Are you feeding your stomach or your suitcase?
Nathan:Oh man.
Alicea:I'm going merchandise for this one.
Nathan:There's only so much merch you can have.
Alicea:Yeah.
Nathan:And I could make a hard argument for both sides of this one. I think I'd go with food though, because I would get tired and not have enough room for all of the stuff. I am not the kind of person who would earn this kind of perk and then turn around and resell everything.
Alicea:No, I wouldn't resell.
Nathan:And so like it just feels like it feels like the unlimited merch would be would be more limited than the unlimited food.
Alicea:Did you hear my other thing that I said though?
Nathan:What was that?
Alicea:I'd charity.
Nathan:Oh. Wow, now you're making me feel selfish.
Alicea:I know.
Nathan:Love you too, question mark.
Alicea:Well, so there's always new merchandise. There's always new merchandise that comes out. And five hundred dollars does not go as far as you think it does.
Nathan:True. Very true.
Alicea:And no, I I wouldn't be one of those reseller people. No.
Nathan:No.
Alicea:Um maybe a couple of things, but no. That's just not us. That's just not me either. So yeah. I'd rather go with the merch.
Nathan:Okay. I'd rather go with the food.
Alicea:That's fine.
Nathan:All right. All right. Agree to disagree. All right. Does Club 33 Access beat a platinum plus annual pass? Elite dining versus elite parkopping, who wins? So I have too much dirty knowledge. Yes, and this is a bad question.
Alicea:I do too. So um, yes, I do think club 33 access beats a platinum plus AP. Mm-hmm. I do too. Just because of the backstage knowledge that we have of Club 33.
Nathan:Yes. Also in the very public knowledge of, oh, by the way, with a Club 33 membership, you get platinum plus APs. So this question, like, I actually reject the premise.
Alicea:Yeah. So I know what I'm picking for that.
Nathan:Sure. Exactly. Did did I just help you?
Alicea:No, I knew I knew that one already.
Nathan:Oh, I knew that one too. Yeah.
Alicea:Next question. Would you trade a Disney wedding for lifetime hotel stays?
Nathan:No.
Alicea:One unforgettable day versus endless magical nights.
Nathan:No.
Alicea:No.
Nathan:Like, would I love to renew our vows in a big magical Disney fiasco?
Alicea:Oh yeah. Fiasco. Oh no.
Nathan:Okay. Maybe that was the wrong word. In a big magical Disney fantastical experience? Yes. Saved it. Or did I? Anyhow, yeah, I would love to do that. Would I rather have lifetime hotel stays? Sure. Because that means I could just retire at Disney World and not have to pay for lodging. Oh no. Sounds good to me. Yeah. Is performing in a parade cooler than being professionally photographed every visit? Spotlight versus snapshots. What's your kind of fame?
Alicea:My kind of fame is definitely snapshots.
Nathan:I see both sides of this.
Alicea:I am not a performer. Dance monkey dance.
Nathan:I wouldn't want to be in a parade. I would want to be able to hone my voice and be able to be part of the Dapper Dans. I would want to be able to sit down and play drums with some small group somewhere doing whatever. But I think I could do that on the side. And I would love to have a photographer coming around taking candids and doing poses and doing whatever. Like that has a lot of appeal to me.
Alicea:Would you rather have $500 to spend every visit or be a club 33 member forever? Instant gratification versus long-term prestige. Um this is a no-brainer.
Nathan:This is a no-brainer.
Alicea:Again, for the dirty knowledge that we have.
Nathan:Yeah. We do have a Club 33 episode in our back catalog, folks, if you want to go listen to that, where uh we kind of lay out what it means to be a member of Club 33. Uh we also have some some friends and and uh former coworkers who uh were slash are members, depending on who we're thinking of. And um, yeah, we just know a lot of behind the scenes things. Uh Club 33 membership A is just worth a heck of a lot more money.
Alicea:So it it costs a heck of a lot more money, too.
Nathan:That's what I mean. Like yeah.
Alicea:Yeah. All right.
Nathan:Does the Cinderella Castle suite beat all other perks? Is one night of pure magic worth more than every day benefits? No. I know it is not.
Alicea:Simple Would you give up Fast Passes Forever for unlimited park food? Speed versus snacks. What is your Disney priority? This is difficult for me. I don't know.
Nathan:I mean it's
Alicea:I think I'd go with the food. And I'll tell you why.
Nathan:All right, hit me.
Alicea:Because Epcot has some really good festivals. Oh. And we are we like the rides, but we are more vibe people.
Nathan:True.
Alicea:So I would go with the foods for this one. But having to give up FastPasses forever is difficult.
Nathan:It's very difficult. I'm not sure on this one. Dude. I hate standby lines.
Alicea:I know.
Nathan:I can still pay for food. I'm glad I don't have to choose about this in real life. Um I feel like I'd get more use out of the fast passes. Like I could go on multiple rides for every single, like, one meal that I have. I spend maybe an hour at a meal.
Alicea:Do you want me to dive a little deeper here? Yeah. I feel like with the money that you save on food, we could easily get VIP tours.
Nathan:We're going unlimited food.
Alicea:Because food is expensive. I mean, not every time we go, right? But Yeah.
Nathan:No, okay. I'm I'm sold. 100% sold. Is the ability to perform in a show more magical than a free Disney wedding?
Alicea:Living the dream versus celebrating the dream. Is this a one-time thing?
Nathan:Yeah. Like if it was a one-time performance versus a one-time wedding, I'd do wedding. Yeah. If it was the ability to be a performer like whenever, or you know, like we've been talking about being in a band or in a group or something like that, uh, where you're on repeatedly versus a one-time thing, I think the creative artists, probably in both of us, would rather do that. I mean, we get a lot of internal joy, satisfaction, accomplishment from performing and being on stage. You know, whether we're in the limelight or we're in the back row uh of a band, there's a lot to that. There's a reason why we're still involved in music to this day.
Alicea:Yeah.
Nathan:I don't know that one magical event overrules or outweighs that.
Alicea:Yeah.
Nathan:Um I'm gonna go with performing.
Alicea:I would too. Okay. If it's a more than one-time performing thing.
Nathan:Yeah.
Alicea:Yeah.
Nathan:Yeah. If it's just one shot, I've already had my one shot. I I've been there, I've done that. I've I've been in the parade. I would which is what magic music days way, way, way back in the day. I would rather have had uh the wedding. Yeah. So, okay, cool.
Alicea:Which perk would make you feel most like Disney royalty? Let's settle the crown once and for all.
Nathan:Okay, so of these, which is my favorite? Oh no, which would make me feel most like royalty? Well, ironically, I'm gonna throw the one night in Cinderella Castle out. Ever even though it's every year. Like, I don't feel like royalty if I'm only able to sleep in a castle once a year. Um man, the Disney wedding from uh feeling like like royalty perspective, that's up there. Merch is not royalty. No platinum AP Nice, not necessarily royalty. Free hotel stays forever. Unlimited fast pass, no food doesn't make me feel royal. Ability to be in a parade or a show if you're choosing whenever you want.
Alicea:Possibly.
Nathan:Possibly. I could go be a prince. Hmm. Professional photographer? Okay, that may make me feel like royalty.
Alicea:I think for me, the one that would make me feel most like Disney Royalty, honestly, we're gonna knock this into the ground here. Being a member of Club 33 forever. Because you will get to know the people there.
Nathan:Yep.
Alicea:You'll get to know, I mean, let's face it, there's celebrities that go there all the time. And if you are a regular there and some of them are regulars there, you know, you'll just get to know people.
Nathan:Right, right. For content, it's good. Can you imagine our show? Holy cow. Um Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Club 33, being a member of Club 33 would make me feel like Disney Royalty. Yep, yeah. For sure. For sure. All right, Alicea. I think we've spent enough time avoiding the question. Which two of these perks are you choosing?
Alicea:So I have a question for you. Okay. Is this just me all by myself? Or is this us as a couple? So I choose two and you choose two. Because some of these I would not choose if you're gonna be with me all the time, because we can play off of each other. Does that make sense?
Nathan:I think you just said you want to go to Disney World without me, is what I just heard.
Alicea:Well, I've done that before, but okay, you have too.
Nathan:So Um Here's how I'm thinking of it. I think of it as in your opinion, which two things would we have?
Alicea:Okay, so both of us together.
Nathan:Both of us together.
Alicea:So I get one and you get one.
Nathan:No, you choose your two. Okay. And then I will choose two and we'll compare and contrast our choices.
Alicea:Okay.
Nathan:So in your opinion, which two things should we choose?
Alicea:Okay, okay, okay, okay. And then in my opinion, yeah. Understood. Okay. Am I going first?
Nathan:Yes.
Alicea:Okay. Well, obviously, number nine, be a member of Club 33 forever. That is a total no-brainer.
Speaker:Yes.
Alicea:Um, the other one, I think I think I do free hotel stays forever.
Nathan:Okay.
Alicea:Oh, actually, let me let me check on this. Does that include DVC hotels?
Nathan:I mean, these are golden tickets.
Alicea:Yeah.
Nathan:Sure.
Alicea:Okay. Well, even if it's not DVC, I mean, free hotel stays forever. I'm doing the nice room in the hotel if we don't do DVC.
Nathan:I mean, we could say we're doing cash rates at a DVC resort. That's okay.
Alicea:Yeah. Okay. So yeah. Number nine, be a member of Club 33 forever. And number two, free hotel stays forever.
Nathan:All right. So we're not having a photographer. We're not in shows. We're not staying in the castle. We're paying for our own food.
Alicea:I'm fine with that.
Nathan:We didn't have a Disney wedding, which we didn't have a Disney wedding. Um, number four is obsolete, which was uh a platinum plus annual pass because you get those for your family as part of a membership. Unlimited FastPasses Forever. I think we could uh spend some money when we need it, but also no, I think 33 members get yeah, never mind. You'd have that. So that's grandfathered in. Uh you also get a bunch like four VIP tours a year?
Alicea:Something like that, yeah.
Nathan:Um yeah. Okay. Club 33, absolutely. You're going with hotel stays.
Alicea:I am. Because the money you save from that, I mean seriously. Yeah.
Nathan:Okay.
Alicea:We pre we have prepaid our hotel stays for the most part with our DVC membership.
Nathan:True. I mean, we still pay a fair amount a year in annual maybe. Um I think you're right. I'm going back and forth between free hotel stays and unlimited park food. But when I think food at Disney World and where I really want to eat, most of those places are not in a park. So I would rather have the hotel and save that money to apply to go eat at all of the places that we really want to eat. Like Steakhouse 71 or Victoria and Alberts, or a bunch of places at Disney Springs. Like none of those are park food.
Alicea:Yeah, and it does say park, it doesn't say resort.
Nathan:Right. So, Alicea, this is why we have been together for 32 years, married for 25. We are in perfect alignment.
Alicea:Yes.
Nathan:We are Club 33 members for life. We have free Disney World hotel stays forever. Our life is grand.
Alicea:Yes, it is.
Nathan:It's perfect. It's the perfect life. All right.
Alicea:That would be amazing.
Nathan:That would be fantastic.
Alicea:Hey Disney. Yeah.
Nathan:Yeah. We're not sponsored now. No. Um, if you want to put somebody to the test to see if this is something that's viable, give us a call. We'll see what we can do.
Alicea:You know what I think we should do? I think we should come up with our own golden tickets.
Nathan:Ooh. Okay.
Alicea:If you could add something on here, what would you add? I have mine already.
Nathan:Oh. Okay. I need some time to think. That's right. Um, you go ahead and and stall for time.
Alicea:My my golden ticket is you have a house and the amenities that come with it at Golden Oaks.
Nathan:Oh I would take that over free hotel stays forever.
Speaker:Well, yeah.
Nathan:I'm thinking something to the effect of six cruises a year in concierge on whatever itinerary you want.
Alicea:So this is this is getting out of the Walt Disney World vein if we do that. And I'm okay with that.
Nathan:Yes, yes. Okay. So okay. My option would be up to six cruises a year on Disney cruise line in concierge, any itinerary.
Alicea:Two adventures by Disney trips or just one adventures by Disney trip a year. I think we need to come up with our own and do another one of these. Okay. And come up with pie in the sky things like this. I think that would be fun.
Nathan:Okay.
Alicea:For all-up, all-up um Disney stuffs.
Nathan:We could have a better list.
Alicea:We could have a better list. We could have a different list.
Nathan:Not necessarily Well, true. Well, we could make this much harder.
Alicea:Yes. Yeah, yeah. I think with just with our knowledge of all the Disney stuff. Because looking at this list, it's obvious. It's obvious that somebody didn't know entirely. I know. I'm I'm don't I don't mean it like that, but I do mean it like that.
Nathan:Olivia, she didn't mean that. She meant that in the best possible way.
Alicea:Yes. Anyway. What do you think? Should we do another one?
Nathan:Absolutely.
Alicea:Okay.
Nathan:Absolutely. We will be back with this. Yeah. I think we will take some of these. I think some of these are fantastic. But we need to make some people make some hard decisions. Yes. Do you want to be a club 33 member in Disney World or do you want to be a Club 33 member in Disneyland? Mm. Mm-hmm. Yes, we'll be back with this.
Alicea:Yep.
Nathan:For sure. All right. Well, choices have been made. Dreams have been debated. And now we want to hear from you. Which two picks would you choose?
